My own journey into meditation practice started with great challenges & abrupt life changes. I felt in free-fall & needed help getting grounded again. I read an article about meditation, and thought "it can't hurt, and HAS to be better than taking medication!" And after my first few days, I knew I was actively changing my mindset, one breath at a time.
I personally use Headspace , but also have proudly gotten to a place in my practice where I can take a few moments of self-guided meditation. I have found that meditation makes me a better person in all aspects of my life. And I love the idea that ANY meditation is good meditation, sit how you like (or even lay down!), guided or not, mala or not- it's all good self-care.
